About Lost Coast High

Lost Coast High Learning Center Mission Statement

At Lost Coast High Learning Center, we believe that to sufficiently prepare our students for today’s world, passively learning facts out of context is not relevant to the 21st century skills needed to be successful. At Lost Coast High Learning Center, students are guided and mentored by skilled instructors while developing solid fundamental skills in technology, reading, writing and mathematics.

We believe in project based learning that builds teamwork, problem solving, critical thinking, strong communication skills, creativity, decision making and leadership skills. It is our philosophy that with this combination of 21st century skills our students will be actively engaged in their learning process.  This fundamental shift–from a focus on teaching to a focus on learning encourages and enhances our student’s motivation and development as lifelong learners and leaders.  Lost Coast High is a STEAM learning center utilizing AVID and PBIS strategies.
